Effect of Aqua - acupuncture of Artemisiae capillaris Herba Extract on the Rat Hepatocyte damaged by Carbon tetrachloride

Abstract
|

|
These studies were carried out to observe the effect of aquacacupuncture of Artemisiae capillaris Herba extract. The damage of the rat heparocyte induced with carbon tetrachloride by a single dose of 0.5㎖. The Artemisiae capillaris Herba extract was aqua acupunctured into the site of Gan-Su(B_(18)). The heparocyte of rats were observed with the light and electron microscopes.
The following results have been obtained :
1) In light micrographs, the hepatocytes of rats from Artemisiae capillaris Herba extract aqua-acupuncture 1, 3 and 7 days groups showed vacuoles in their cytoplasm. But the hepatocytes of 14 days rats of same group were not noticed vacuoles in their cytoplasm.
2) In electron micrographs, the cytoplasmic appearance of hepatocytes of rats from Artemisiae capillaris Herba extract aqua-acupuncture 1, 3 and 7 days group were revealed same patterns to the cases of saline aqua-acupuncture. But in the case of 14 days rats the contour of cytoplasmic organelles of hepatocytes show nearly normal appearance.
These findings suggest that the Artemisiae capillaris Herba extract aqua-acupuncture is effective to the hepatocyte damaged by carbon tetrachloride and is recommendable for liver diseases.
